Hi I am Sanskruti (aged 10 years). I want to tell how my trek plan started. First my dad was going with some of his friends. But due to various reasons they told that they can’t come. My mom gave an idea that my brother can give company to him. Then I also told I will also go with my brother & my father. My father asked Devkant uncle. He told that we can also go with him to the trek. We took permission from our class teachers. After the meeting we went with my father’s friend for the shopping. Prior to travel, we did packing and put the first aid box, medicine, snacks, etc.

It was the first experience for me and my brother in the airplane. We enjoyed a lot. We reached Dehradun at 12:00 and then we reached Haridwar at 1:12 pm by taxi. We checked in at the hotel and rested for a while. Evening at 5:00pm we went the Ganga Aarthi (Har Ki Poudi). After the Ganga Aarthi we came back to the hotel.

The next day at 5:00 am we left from Haridwar along with two foreigners Mr. Rui and Mr. Edward. We ate our breakfast at the ‘HOTEL SHIVA’. There we saw a foreigner who was 60 years old and was talking in fluent Hindi. It seemed like her mother tongue is Hindi. We saw Devprayag, Rudraprayag, Karnaprayag and Vishnuprayag. We reached Govindghat at 6:00 pm. We meet Devkant uncle at the ‘HOTEL BHAGAT’.

We started our trek at 7:00am next day morning. At 12:00 noon we rested and ate our lunch. At 2:00 pm we stopped and got into the water and suddenly it started to rain. So we and our guide took ponies. I and my brother were sitting on 1 pony. The pony was too weird, when it is up and if it’s going fast, then we should bend forward. If it is slope, then we should bend behind. At 4:15pm we rested for a while. The next day we went to Valley of Flowers. There we saw many different varieties of amazing flowers. When we were returning I and my brother were in front of everyone. My brother was waiting for my dad and I didn’t know that I was going ahead alone and I was very scared and waited for about half an hour then my brother saw me and then we both went to the hotel together.

The next day we went to “Hemkund sahib”. We went to the hospital and doctor uncle offered us glass of coffee. After a while, we went to “Sarovar Sahib”. There we saw many different flowers. We saw ‘BHRAMA KAMAL, VISHNU KAMAL’ whichare very rare flowers. Vishnu kamala grows twice a year. From there we went to “GURUDWARA”. Then we ate Khir (langar). It was very tasty. Then in 2 hours we reached Ghangaria. The next day we went back to Govindghat. First we went to temple of Mata Ganga. We reached around 2:30. Then the T.T. left us to the hotel.

The next day we left for Haridwar, but due to the landslide we had to wait for 5 hours.Next day we went to “VASHISHTA GHUFA” and many other temples. We then left for Bangalore.

So this was a wonderful trip that I had ever gone for. I learnt a lot about nature. I saw how nature can be furious if we disturb its ecological balance. We all have to respect nature. I urge all kids also go there and have a great time there.
